We want you to enjoy your candle safely and fully by following these instructions and safety precautions which will ensure that you get the very best from your candle, each and every time you light it.
Before Burning
Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting to prevent uneven burning, dripping or flaring.
Keep your candle free from any foreign material, this includes wick trimmings and matches.
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface to prevent against heat damage to surfaces and away from drafts, vents and air currents to prevent uneven burning.
Burn the candle for 2-4 hours. This will help the candle to burn evenly and prevent what we call ‘tunnelling’. This is especially important during the first burn.
While Burning
Never leave a burning candle unattended or lit while sleeping. Never burn the candle on or near anything that is flammable.
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place lit candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.
Don’t burn your candle all the way down. For safety measures, stop burning the candle when there is a ½ inch of wax left in the vessel.
Extinguishing your candle
We advise using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle. This will prevent your wicks from drifting off centre, thus maximising your candle burn time. Blowing out your candle can cause wax to splatter and the wick may continue to glow and emit a small amount of smoke, which is natural but not preferable.
Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.
Allow the wax to solidify before burning again.
